INTRODUCTION

Our team collaborated with the National Municipal Stormwater Alliance (NMSA) to develop its new visual identity and website. After creating the visual identity, we built a site where people can explore curated resources, insightful articles, and engaging webinars to empower individuals and communities to positively impact the planet.

Challenge

Design is a language in which we speak fluently

It’s always a challenge when organizations trust us to reimagine their brand and build a new and improved website. The first obstacle is always the pre-estimation of the core issue. So, we start investigating and sketching possible new visual solutions to guide the rest of the process. We take the task with responsibility, aiming for the best possible result.

We had to quickly adapt to the dates and the work scope to deliver in time and form. One of the biggest challenges was that we couldn’t get a good grasp on making the new visual aspect of the web until we had the new visual identity of the brand. We took it step by step, crafting the identity and building the new platform.

Solution

Design is a language in which we speak fluently

The first step was to create a new visual identity for the organization. We started by crafting a logo that was simple yet memorable. Then, we needed to determine a color palette. We chose different tones of blue and sky blue to align with the brand's personality. The imagery we went for recalls fluidity in the form of waves, and for the typography, we chose fonts that effectively reflect the organization's character.

Once we had the identity, it was time to translate the new visual universe into an effective online platform. We created a website to empower the community and its users and help the NMSA continue its program, enhancing the experience of everyone involved.

NMSA offers various programs and a wide range of information for diverse audiences. We organized the content to simplify navigation. Now, people can easily access resources for their communities, articles, and events such as webinars.

Relevance

The project is now online, helping the NMSA community make a positive impact on the planet. As mentioned earlier, developing a brand identity that will later be translated into a platform is always challenging. We approached the assignment with responsibility, fully aware that our work would directly impact the results.
