The concept we needed to develop aimed to empower and inspire young Black women, encouraging their active participation in the tech industry as creators and visionaries. We achieved this by introducing them to computer programming and technology through the creative lens of art. This innovative approach enhanced their technical skills and ignited their passion and curiosity. Our graphics had to be visually appealing, catering to young girls and potential donors.

The camp project revolved around creating abstract art through coding. In this endeavor, our concept aimed to represent the vibrant spirit of Black girls using a combination of bold geometric shapes, vivid colors, and a fusion of ancestral and contemporary elements, including accessories, hairstyles, and complementary color palettes. By integrating these distinctive facial features into our design, we sought to provide the girls with a visual representation of themselves within the graphics, fostering a sense of identification and belonging within a community.

The Black Girls Code organization was thrilled with the result, and the campaign was successfully uploaded to the donor website.

Projects like these broaden our perspective. They allow us to see through the eyes of the girls and the donors, inviting us to engage in social causes that make coding accessible to every Black girl, regardless of her financial means.
